Information used by this preview
- Contact and door assessment: if you choose to contact us, the information you provide may include your name, contact details, location, door photographs, lock details and messages. Please leave faces, identity documents, access codes and unrelated personal information out of photographs.
- Accounts and baskets: WordPress and WooCommerce process login, account and basket information when you use those features. Please avoid entering real customer details or placing real orders during preview testing.
- Technical operation: the server may record connection details such as IP address, requested page, time and browser information for operating and protecting the site.
Why information is used
Information supplied with a genuine enquiry is used to assess door compatibility, prepare a quote, discuss an appointment and respond to support requests. Account, basket and technical information supports the corresponding website features and security.
For quotes, the basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract. Delivering an installation and handling contractual support rely on performance of that contract. Required financial records are kept to comply with legal obligations. Necessary security processing relies on the legitimate interest in protecting the website and its users. Any optional marketing or public use of identifiable customer photographs requires a separate choice; sending a door photo for a quote does not give permission to publish it.
Cookies and similar storage
Login and basket functions may use cookies or browser storage to remember a session, authentication or basket contents. Clearing browser storage can sign you out or empty your basket. This preview does not request advertising or analytics consent as a substitute for a proper cookie review. Any non-essential tracking must be assessed and configured before public launch.
WhatsApp, email and video links
WhatsApp, phone and email buttons let you choose to contact us through those services. The information you send is also handled by the relevant service provider under its own terms and privacy arrangements.
The current video covers are local illustrations, not embedded YouTube players. Opening an approved YouTube link takes you to YouTube. External providers may process information outside Ireland or the EEA; the final notice must identify actual providers and any applicable transfer arrangements before launch.
Access, storage and retention
Access should be limited to people and providers who need information for the relevant enquiry, service, support or website operation. The preview is hosted on the business’s Ubuntu server, with a separate site database and backups.
How long information is kept
GDPR requires information to be kept no longer than necessary for its purpose; it does not prescribe one fixed period for every type of information. We use the following schedule, subject to a documented legal or dispute-related need to retain particular records longer:
- Enquiries that do not become bookings: delete unnecessary door photos and routine enquiry messages 90 days after the last meaningful contact.
- Installation and support photos: keep relevant photos while the agreed product guarantee or active support issue needs them, then review and delete them within 90 days of that need ending. Photos are not kept for marketing by default.
- Order, invoice and required accounting records: normally keep the records needed for Irish tax and company record-keeping for at least six years after the end of the relevant financial year, with longer retention only where a specific tax enquiry, claim or other legal duty requires it. Review and erase or anonymise personal information once that requirement ends.
- Other account information: review inactive accounts after 24 months and remove details that are no longer needed, while separately retaining financial records that must legally remain.
The 90-day and 24-month periods are our operational policy choices, not periods imposed by GDPR. Photos and messages held in WhatsApp or email require staff to apply this schedule in those services; the website cannot automatically erase those copies. Backup handling must also respect deletion decisions when data is restored.
Completed and refunded order records must not be automatically erased before the applicable accounting period and any legal hold have been checked. The retention workflow and backup-expiry schedule will be verified before real customer records are accepted.
Your rights and concerns
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict or object to processing, and receive portable data. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. Contact us using the details above to raise a request; we may need to verify your identity.
You can also raise a concern with Ireland’s Data Protection Commission. Its transparency guidance explains the information that a final privacy notice should provide.
Changes before launch
The company placeholders and actual service-provider, backup-expiry and retention procedures must be confirmed before public launch. We update this notice when payment services, videos, tracking or data-handling arrangements change.
